Flying Geese New Quilts from an Old Favorite

This popular National Quilt Museum annual contest has taken flight once again! Annually, the museum sponsors a contest based on a traditional quilt pattern. The challenge to quiltmakers stems from the contest name, New Quilts From An Old Favorite. This year’s theme is the Flying Geese block. An exhibit of contest winners and finalists is held each year at the museum. This book is a collection of the most innovative quilts entered in the contest. Inside you will meet the quilters, discover their inspiration, and follow their techniques. You will see the color, the creativity, and the craft of a widely diverse group. Our hope is that the quilts will provide motivation for all quilters to consider their own interpretation of a traditional block to create a new quilt from an old favorite.

* This book does not contain actual patterns to create the quilts presented.  It is more of an art/inspiration book than a how-to book.
